Vakko

Vakko was established in 1973 by Sal Guzay, who left Turkey for New York in 1965. He created a fringe jacket and leather swing dress that put his designs on the map – and on the likes of supermodels Cindy Crawford, Elle Macpherson, and Paulina Porizkova to name a few.

Vakko quickly became one of the largest brands of the 1980s, creating a legacy in high-end leather that continues today. 

The brand was sold in Saks, Bloomingdale’s, Harrods, Gallery Lafayette, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus.
